VILLARS MUSIC RETREATS
How to: Go Beyond Your Limits
5–6 December 2026
Villars Palace · Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland
What can music teach us about human potential?
The first Villars Music Retreat brings together outstanding musicians, scientists and specialists in human performance for two days of music, dialogue and discovery.
Through live performances, personal stories and new perspectives on the mind and body, we explore how we prepare, focus, recover and go beyond what we thought possible.
Music and beyond.
About the retreat
What enables us to go beyond what we already know or believe possible? How do we respond to challenges, adapt to change and keep developing throughout our lives?
Music offers a distinctive perspective on these questions. It brings together discipline and creativity, individual expression and collective responsibility, preparation and the capacity to respond to the unexpected. For a musician, going beyond limits can mean refining a skill, discovering a new artistic voice, finding a way through uncertainty or learning to listen differently to others.
For two days at Villars Palace, musicians, scientists and specialists in human performance explore these questions together through performances, conversations and encounters with the audience. The aim is not to provide a formula for success, but to open up new perspectives on human potential.

More than a weekend of music
In a world increasingly shaped by digital interactions, the retreat makes space for something essential: meeting people face to face. A conversation may open a new perspective. A performance may reveal something words cannot. An encounter with someone from another field may change how we approach a familiar question.
Whether you come for the music, the questions or the people, you are invited to take part in something that extends beyond the stage and the conference room.
Real people. Real encounters. Shared real-life experiences.
